Description

Theatre of Invisible City is a water theatre designed for underwater performance. Inspired by the book Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino, the same city could be described in fifties ways. It is always the same city, but different interpretations. In some way, Sydney Harbour could be seen as Invisible City. It opens in four locations while it would provide the performance in the deepest areas of the harbour. The structure is inspired by the jellyfish and waterbombs origami. The bridges would transform to provide the stage and auditoriums. There is no imposition, only suggestions. Visitors will sit around the cylindrical structure to enjoy the underwater show. Meanwhile, the top of the theatre would be glowing for the onshore people to unveil the stories behind the scenes. Finally, it could be imagined as an apparatus for interpreting the Invisible Cities with performance, sites, and architecture.
